The shopping assistant is a chrome extension that helps users make responsible choices when in doubt.
The idea was that it would act as a friendly character like the Jiminy Cricket, appointed Pinocchio's conscience.
We designed it to be non-intrusive and highly contextual, only showing when necessary or summoned.
Users need to feel better about their purchases or shopping habits online.
For this project, we used archetypes as the basis for the discovery work. This framework allowed us to take into account not only user behaviour but also other general characteristics of the targeted customers.
Note: These archetypes result from a clustering analysis of 4 user interviews conducted with other participants of the Service design jam.
